Why childhood responsibility can feel natural rather than burdensome

childhoodresponsibilitymindset
When asked whether taking on adult responsibilities as a kid felt like a burden or a source of pride, the answer was: neither, really — it felt almost natural. Being the only male in the family while his father traveled, it registered as a duty, but not a heavy one. More like something obvious that didn't require much thinking. Part of that, he reflects, is simply how children process the world: they don't overthink what's expected of them, they just do it. The simplicity of a child's perspective can actually make carrying real responsibility feel seamless rather than overwhelming.
