Solo workers struggle to adapt to teams — but not the other way around

A person who has always worked in a team will likely also be capable of working alone. In contrast, a person who has always worked alone will find it harder to adapt to teamwork. The logic here is asymmetric: the skills built through collaboration — listening, coordinating, trusting others — translate to independent work. The reverse is not equally true. As the expert puts it: 'The group doesn't limit you — it expands you.'
